NettingSource/Industrial Netting
Industrial Netting
Tubular and flat mesh for protective packaging, bundling, containment, and erosion control. Available in extruded and knitted constructions — custom sizes for every application.
One material. Dozens of applications.
Industrial netting is tubular or flat mesh used wherever products need to be protected, bundled, contained, or stabilized during handling, storage, and transport. The same basic construction — a flexible, open-weave sleeve — adapts to applications as different as wrapping auto parts, bagging onions, bundling firewood, and controlling erosion on a hillside.
Pursell Manufacturing produces both extruded and knitted industrial netting in custom sizes. Extruded netting offers a rigid, structured mesh suited to heavy-duty containment and produce packaging. Knitted netting provides a softer, more conformable sleeve for delicate parts and surface protection. All sizes and specifications are made to order.
Application guide
Industrial netting is specified by application — the right construction, diameter, and mesh size depends on what you are protecting and how it will be handled.
Food & Agricultural Packaging
Onions, garlic, citrus, potatoes, and other root vegetables are packaged in tubular netting for ventilation, weight handling, and protection during transport and retail display. Extruded polyethylene is the standard construction for produce bags.
Cheese, cured meats, and other perishables use knitted mesh variants for shape retention and durability. The conformable sleeve holds product shape without restricting airflow.
Mussel cultivation and packaging nets are designed for submerged use, adapting to colony growth and withstanding the marine environment.
Netting supports handling and transport of bulbs and seeds while maintaining product integrity and allowing air circulation.
Tubular netting bundles pine straw bales for retail and landscape supply, keeping product contained and easy to handle.
Protective Packaging & Logistics
Knitted mesh sleeves wrap painted panels, trim pieces, and mechanical components to prevent scratches, dents, and surface damage during shipping and storage. The soft construction conforms to irregular shapes without leaving marks.
Foam-backed or plain mesh sleeves protect glass bottles from impact and abrasion during transport. The sleeve cushions the bottle and keeps it from contacting adjacent items.
Tubular netting bundles multiple retail items — beverage bottles, canned goods, detergents — for promotional multipacks and retail display. The net holds the bundle together without adhesives or rigid packaging.
Flat or tubular netting acts as a moisture and dust barrier over palletized loads during transport and outdoor storage.
Industrial & Mechanical Uses
Tubular protective nets secure and separate gears, metal joints, castings, and painted components. The mesh offers oil and grease resistance and adapts to irregular shapes, keeping parts from contacting each other during transit.
Extruded tubular netting bundles firewood for retail sale. The rigid mesh holds the bundle shape, displays the product, and withstands outdoor conditions.
Open-mesh netting is used in classification, storage, and handling of small parts or bulk materials where containment and airflow are both required.
Erosion Control
Flat mesh netting is used in erosion control blankets and slope stabilization systems. The open structure allows vegetation to establish while holding soil and mulch in place during establishment.
Netting encapsulates straw, wood fiber, or other erosion control media, keeping the material in place on slopes, channels, and disturbed areas.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between extruded and knitted industrial netting?
Extruded netting is formed by pushing molten polymer through a die, producing a rigid, structured mesh with a fixed geometry. It is well suited to auto parts, bottles, firewood bundles, and heavy containment. Knitted netting is made from interlocked loops of yarn, producing a soft, conformable sleeve that adapts to irregular shapes — the preferred choice for produce, plants, and delicate components.
Can industrial netting be used outdoors?
Yes. UV-stabilized formulations are available for outdoor applications including erosion control, firewood retail display, and agricultural packaging. Specify UV stabilization requirements when requesting a quote.
Do you stock standard sizes, or is everything custom?
Industrial netting from Pursell is made to order. Diameter, mesh size, roll length, material, and color are all specified at the time of order. Contact a Pursell specialist to discuss your requirements.
What materials are available?
Extruded netting is available in LDPE, HDPE, and polypropylene. Knitted netting is available in polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). The right material depends on the application — contact Pursell to discuss which construction and polymer best fits your use case.
Where can I order industrial netting?
Industrial netting is available direct from Pursell Manufacturing. Contact a Pursell specialist to discuss your application, request samples, and get a quote for custom sizes and quantities.
